The Little Drops collectible statues series help your children, grandchildren or godchildren to learn about Jesus, Mary and the Saints.
Jesus had twelve apostles. His apostles were his best friends. On the night before He died for our sins, Jesus celebrated Passover with the apostles. Passover is a Jewish holiday that reminds Jewish people of the Israelite's flight from slavery in Egypt. During the dinner, Jesus took the bread, broke it, gave thanks, and said, “Take this all of you and eat it. This is my body”. Then, Jesus took the wine, gave thanks and said, “Take this all of you and drink from it. This is my blood”. The apostles ate the bread and drank the wine as Jesus told them to do. This was the miracle of the first Eucharist. We can participate in this miracle every Sunday when we receive the Eucharist at Mass! When we receive the Eucharist, we are receiving Jesus’ body and blood. This way, we can always remember Jesus and the sacrifice that he made for us. When we receive the Eucharist, we receive grace, which is a share in God’s life. This helps us to become better people. The word “Eucharist” means thanksgiving. How can we show Jesus that we are thankful for the gift of the Eucharist?
