The Little Drops collectible statues series help your children, grandchildren or godchildren to learn about Jesus, Mary and the Saints.
St. Juan Diego lived in Mexico during the 1500s. Juan Diego was so devoted to his faith that he walked 15 miles each day to Mexico City to attend daily Mass. One day, as he was walking to Mass, the Blessed Mother appeared to him dressed as an Aztec Princess. Mary told Juan Diego to ask the local bishop to build a church where she appeared to him. When Juan Diego went to the bishop, he was told to ask Mary for a miracle to prove that his story was true. Juan did what he was told and asked the Blessed Mother for a miracle. Mary told Juan to pick the roses that he would find nearby and to put them in his tilma or cloak. Juan gathered the flowers and went to the bishop again. When he opened the cloak to show the bishop the roses, a beautiful image of Our Lady appeared on his tilma. This image can still be seen in Mexico today. Juan Diego showed great trust in God’s plan for him. How can we show trust in God’s plans for us?
